DiSimoni addresses what he considers to be several “serious flaws” in the Prosek, Montgomery, and Walden (1988)  paper on relative timing in the speech of stutterers and nonstutterers. From his comments, however, it appears that he has ignored the procedures used in our study. We indeed measured articulatory events relative to one another.
