Trotter (Ph.D., University of Iowa, 1953) is Assistant Professor, Marquette University and Louisa Brown (B.Sc., St. Louis University, 1956) is Speech Correctionist for the East St. Louis Public Schools. This article is based on a paper given at the 1956 convention of the American Speech and Hearing Association. The data reported here were collected at the University of Iowa in a program of research in stuttering therapy directed by Wendell Johnson under a grant from the Louis W. and Maud Hill Family Foundation.
